The Meade Rifle & Pistol Club Junior Shooting Program provides junior shooters, ages 18 years and younger, with the knowledge and skills needed to safely handle and operate firearms. Training in safety and marksmanship is conducted by NRA-certified instructors.
The club provides rifles, ammunition, targets and other necessary equipment.
Juniors learn shooting skills using .22 caliber rifles fired from the prone position. As shooters progress, they can earn patches and medals through the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program.
MRPC can also accommodate organized youth groups such as Scout troops, and the program includes support for the Rifle Shooting Merit Badge.

MRPC is also home to a successful Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) youth competition team, giving junior athletes the opportunity to develop their skills and compete at the state and national level.
2026 SASP National Championships
Our team traveled to the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio, to compete in the SASP National Championships alongside more than 2,800 competition entries from across the country.
Competition was extremely close, with some finishes separated by only milliseconds and several requiring tie-breakers.
