Terms of Membership
A membership year for MEADE RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB is from 1 January through 31 December. Club membership fees are not prorated as to partial year membership. Membership currently costs $25 per year for the primary member and $10 per year for each family member. Family members must live at the same address as the primary member.
Required Safety Briefing
Any person who wishes to shoot must successfully complete the MRPC Range Orientation and Range Safety Briefing. Contact the club’s Chief Range Officer, Gary Greco, by email at [email protected] to arrange for your briefing. No guns are allowed at the briefing location – keep them in your vehicle until after completing range briefing. MRPC supports NRA programs
The Club Bylaws require the primary MRPC member to be a member of the National Rifle Association.
The club is organized primarily for the benefit of Department of Defense employees – both civilian, military, and their families. We admit others on a space available basis. Our membership is currently open to everyone.
The Club has periodic access to ranges on the Fort Meade range facility complex, which consist of nine ranges varying in length from 25 to 600 yards. Access to the ranges is only available on designated range days at the scheduled time documented in the club schedule.
Club Dues & Enrollment
Our club dues are $25.00 per year. In addition, members are required to be a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Family members may join MRPC for $10.00 each and are not required to have a separate NRA membership.
After paying dues you will receive your membership card via your online account and you can print it from there. New members must also attend and successfully complete our Range Safety Course to complete your membership. Contact the Chief Range Officer by emailing [email protected] to schedule a range briefing.
NRA Membership Requirement
In 1980, the membership voted to become a 100% NRA affiliated club. Your NRA membership pays for a magazine subscription and liability insurance in the unlikely event you are injured during any of the club activities. By joining the NRA, you help support the many NRA safety and training programs provided to the general public and law enforcement, and strengthen the effort to preserve your right to enjoy the shooting sports. In addition, by being a 100% NRA club, we are eligible to apply for NRA grants for range development and other programs. Note: we don’t require you to have an NRA membership to become a member, however we expect all primary members to become an NRA member.
Membership in Meade Rifle and Pistol Club also qualifies you for membership in the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC). MRPC members may purchase a range badge to use at the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC) ranges for $200. The AGC ranges are open year-round, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM, or dusk, during the week, and from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM, or dusk, on weekends and holidays. The AGC requires new badge holders to take their AGC range orientation course. Located in Marriottsville, MD, the AGC operates a 25 yard pistol range, a 100 yard “every gun” range, a 200 yard high-power rifle range, four trap ranges, and an archery range. Please refer to the AGC’s web site for more information.
